Instead of adding the same boosting rule for multiple collections, you can apply one default rule. The global boosting rule will apply to every collection that doesn't already have an existing curation.
To set global boosting rules, go to Curations
, click Edit Rules
, select Collection
to apply your boost rules, then click Update
.
Save time with global boosting rules. Choose whether to apply global boosting rules to collection or search.
Global boosting rules for search is a powerful functionality that allows merchants to fine-tune the search experience on search results pages and instance search. Please note, global boosting rules for search will only apply if a search curation does not already exist.
Relevance will always apply by default in instances where a search curation and global boosting rule for search do not already exist.
In curations, you are now able to switch between different images. Depending on how you've set up your images in Shopify, you have the option to update the image display based on position number or file name.
Position number (i.e., 1
)
File name (i.e., _model
)
By changing the image type, the default image on the front-end won’t change. This feature is simply a visual aid to help you merchandise your products based on aesthetics.
We’ve optimised the results for terms that are part of synonym groups. When a synonym term is detected within a search query, that term will always score higher over the other terms that belong to the same synonym group. This ensures that the most relevant products always appear first.
You can now control the relevance level and importance level of every synonym field.
It's important to have all synonym fields in your relevance settings. This ensures that synonym queries are considered anytime someone enters a term that does not already exist in your catalogue.
The synonym field must be 1 importance less than the main field so that the most relevant products appear first. Here’s an example of the setup:
You can rest assured that global rules will apply every time - even if a curation without boosting rules exists. The only time global rules won't apply is when a published curation has at least 1 boosting rule.
We've added a new autocomplete search input for selecting collections and a new product view that includes insights from analytics, boosting metrics and what curations a product belongs in.
Instead of adding each item one by one, save time by importing redirects and synonyms in bulk. Simply navigate to the feature, click on import and enter the details.
Create a default set of boosting rules that apply to all collections that don't already belong to an existing curation.
Automate your collection ordering based on key attributes such as product type, sale, highest inventory, and earliest published date
Save time by setting global rules for every collection page. Apply rules to specific curations to override the global settings
Otherwise known as “Size Curve” boosting, you can setup rules based on the % of stock that's available for a product. Make sure to enable the "show more product info" setting in curations to see the percentage availability metric.
You can group products with "availability equal to 100%" so products with stock across all sizes appear at the top of the category (this is handy for New Arrivals)
Alternatively, you can group items with limited stock through last chance campaigns by using rules like "availability is less than 20%"
Within curations, you can now apply boosting rules by pushing the most profitable products to the top of the category. Profit margin calculates the average margin across the product variants.
Position the most profitable products to the top by using a rule like "Profit margin greater than 40%"
You can also apply a sort order based on products with the highest profitability

Save time setting up new curations by duplicating existing boosting rules.
Set up a single curation so that rules can be duplicated to other curations
