Apply rules to control the way products appear in collections and search results pages. Use boost rules, drag-and-drop controls, and add promotional banners. Arrange by aesthetics, place matching products near each other, or promote your best-sellers to the top.
Navigate to the "Merchandising" section of the app then click on the Add Curation
button on the top right. Then, select Collection or Search Result. Once a curation is created, the products will auto-populate based on the following:
Collecton = products from the default Shopify collection
Search = products from the Relevance settings in the app
The buttons in the header focus on actions that are relevant to the curation. This layout enables you to apply certain actions for the particular curation that you're in, such as:
Add products to the curation
Add callouts
Pin products
Apply a sort
Add boost rules
Apply to a specific market
And more...
Add more products to your curation by clickingAdd
-> Product
You can Pin
products to manually drag and drop products. Only pinned products can be positioned manually.
If you don't want Pin All
, you can specifically pin a few products to the top of the curation
Drag and drop pinned products within your curation
In order for the drop and drag function to work, the particular product must be pinned first. By default, all products are not pinned as it allows the products' placement to be flexible based on what boost rules are applied to that curation. Pinned products will always appear as a priority over boost rules.
Sort
products within your curation based onTag
, Title
,Price
, and more.
Make sure to choose the direction of the sort. Choose between Ascending
or Descending
Boost
products by grouping them to the top of the curation. As long as the product meets the criteria, the product will be part of the group. Thereby placing those products on the top.
You can also Add sub sort
to the groupings to control the sort order of your groupings.

Go to Curation
-> More
-> Settings
Update the columns and page size to visualise exactly how your merchandising will appear when your listing page changes depending on the device type (desktop or mobile).
Reveal more information about each product to help you decide where each product should be positioned in your curation. By clicking on the checkbox, important product information will be visible. This includes variant availability, inventory, days since published, and more.
In curations, you are able to switch between different images. Simply change the image based on the image position or file name.
Image position: Display product images based on their position number
Image name suffix: Display product images based on their filename (i.e, _lifestyle
)
In Settings
update the number or file name → Click Update
By changing the image type, the default image on the front-end won’t be impacted. This feature is simply a visual aid to help you merchandise your products based on aesthetics.
Boost rules work by grouping a particular set of products that meet the criteria. The criteria are set by you (the merchant). All products that meet the criteria will bring the set of products to the top.
Automate your collection ordering based on key attributes such as product type, sale, highest inventory, and earliest published date.
You can create as many groupings as you want by clicking Add boosting rule
Each group will apply in sequential order. The group that's closest to the top will apply first, then every group down the list will apply thereafter. The example below will apply Days since published
first. Tags
will apply next, and so forth.
You can reorder groupings based on any order you want.
The great thing about boosting rules is that you can apply rules. Then, customise individual products even further by hiding, or rearranging the products within the curation.
Instead of adding the same boosting rule for multiple collections, you can apply one default rule. The global boosting rule will apply to every collection that doesn't already have an existing curation.
To set global boosting rules, go to Curations
, click Edit Rules
, select Collection
to apply your boost rules, then click Update
.
Save time with global boosting rules. Choose whether to apply global boosting rules to collection or search.
Global boosting rules for search is a powerful functionality that allows merchants to fine-tune the search experience on search results pages and instance search. Please note, global boosting rules for search will only apply if a search curation does not already exist.
Relevance will always apply by default in instances where a search curation and global boosting rule for search do not already exist.
Yes. Save time setting up new curations by duplicating existing boosting rules and applying it to an existing curation. After duplicating a curation, you can modify the rules even further for a more tailored merchandise setup.
